Aaron Eckhart - The Dark Knight, Love Happens, Thank you for Smoking

I sent a request to Aaron Eckhart on Oct. 18, 2010 and received a response today, Nov. 30, 2010. I sent a letter, a return envelope, an 8x10 and a 4x6. He sent my two photos back signed and added his own 8x10 signed and personalized. I really like The Dark Knight photo I sent.

Kevin Nealon - Saturday Night Live, Happy Gilmore, etc.

Today started the week off nicely with a success through the mail from Kevin Nealon. I sent a letter, an envelope, an 8x10 and a 4x6 to Mr. Nealon on Nov. 13, 2010 and received a response today, Nov. 29, 2010. He sent my 8x10 back signed and personalized. There was no sign of my 4x6, but he sent his own 8x10 in addition to mine with a nice inscription, so I'm more than happy with that. Now I'm going to send my 8x10 to Fred Willard, who is also pictured in hopes that he'll sign it as well!

Steven Spielberg - ET, Jaws, Indiana Jones, etc.

This is one of my more prized autographs. I bought this several years ago and I'm really glad I did. I like so much of what Spielberg has done. I also like that this photo is from when he was doing Indiana Jones.

Shawn Ashmore - X-Men movies

I've wanted to add Shawn Ashmore to my collection of X-Men film actors for a while and I was able to get this for a steal in an auction, so I went for it.  He played Iceman/Bobby Drake in the X movies.

Sarah Chalke - Scrubs, Roseanne

I love Scrubs. I have a Zach Braff autograph I haven't blogged yet, and I'm thinking I'm going to have to work on completing a collection from the show. I got a chance to get Sarah Chalke's autograph in an auction last weekend, so I went ahead and got it. She isn't known for responding through the mail.

Mark Wahlberg - Shooter, The Other Guys, Invincible, etc.

Mark Wahlberg is one of my favorite actors, so I was for sure going to write to see if I could get his autograph. I sent an 8x10, a 5x7, a letter and a envelope on Oct. 28, 2010. On Nov. 26, 2010, I got both photos back signed. They aren't personalized, but who cares. This dude is awesome!

Dan Lauria - The Wonder Years

Actually got these in the mail yesterday, but didn't get to blogging today. I sent Dan Lauria, the dad from The Wonder Years, two 4x6 photos on Nov. 20, 2010. He is currently the lead in "Lombardi" on Broadway, so that's where I sent them. I received the photos back on Nov. 26, 2010 - super fast turnaround. I'm thrilled he personalized and inscribed both of them.

Dawn Wells - Gilligan's Island

I wrote to Dawn Wells way back when, in my early days of autograph collecting. She responded to my letter with the nice personalized picture below.

Kate Voegele - One Tree Hill, pop singer

I sent a request to Kate Voegele on Nov. 13, 2010 and received a response today, Nov. 24, 2010. I sent a letter, an envelope, an 8x10 and a 4x6. I received the 8x10 back signed, but I'm unsure if the sig is authentic or not. It doesn't look like other examples I've been able to track down. It really just looks like some kid scribbled on the photo.

Stephen Collins - 7th Heaven

I got this one through the mail by emailing Stephen Collins. 7th Heaven was pretty popular at the time, so this was pretty cool. Also, it is personalized, so that always makes it seem more special.

CHiPs - Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox

I purchased this photo back in my early days of autograph collecting. I loved CHiPs growing up, so when I saw this one, I had to have it. Pretty cool to have both of them on one photo.

Al Roker - The Today Show

I received Al Roker's autograph through the mail in the early 2000s. I don't remember if I emailed him somehow or wrote a letter. Anyway - nice that he drew a little sunshine on the photo.

Liv Tyler - Lord of the Rings, Armageddon, etc.

Well, it is Tuesday and it has been a slow two days through the mail so far (I expected that after a great week last week). I figured I'd go ahead and post a few of my previous purchases while I don't have anything new to post. So, here is Liv Tyler. I purchased this many years ago, before the LOTR movies actually.

George W. Bush - President

President Bush signed a bunch of bookplates for his recently released book, Decision Points. There was information on the site for the book on how to get one. I sent a request and a return envelope on Oct. 28, 2010 and my bookplate came today, Nov. 20, 2010. A lot of the time autographs from presidents are autopens (machines that sign a reproduction of their real autograph), but these bookplates seem legit. They are all different (autopens are a common pattern, although they could have more than one machine or pattern). There was also a picture on the internet, totally unrelated to these, that showed a stack of the bookplates and several Sharpies sitting on the desk next to him, waiting to be signed.

I am thrilled to add a president to my collection.

Colbie Caillat - pop singer

I sent Colbie Caillat a letter, a return envelope, an 8x10 and a 5x7 on Oct. 18, 2010 and received a response today, Nov. 20, 2010. I received my two photos back unsigned, along with an autographed 8x10 of her own. I imagine her people have a stack of pre-signed photos they send out when they receive autograph requests because it looks real (not pre-printed or anything). I may try to send my two photos to her when she is performing a concert sometime and she if she'll sign them there. I'm happy with the success though. She is quite lovely.

Lynda Carter - Wonder Woman

I sent Ms. Carter a letter, a return envelope, an 8x10 and a 5x7 on Oct. 25, 2010. I received the photos back today, Nov. 19, 2010. Great success from an iconic actress! Very happy with this one!

Rob Reiner - All in the Family (actor) and Director

I sent a letter, a return envelope and a 4x6 photo to Mr. Rob Reiner on Nov. 5, 2010 and received my photo back signed and personalized today, Nov. 19, 2010. What a great week for autographs so far (still have tomorrow to go as well)!

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe - Prison Break, She's All That, etc.

I sent a letter, an SASE, an 8x10 and a 5x7 to Jodi Lyn O'Keefe on Oct. 18, 2010 and received a response today, Nov. 18, 2010. I received my two photos back unsigned, but I did receive an additional signed 8x10, so I'm pretty happy. She's quite beautiful and a good actress.

Alison Haislip - G4 Network hostess

I sent a letter, a self addressed stamped envelope and two 4x6 photos to Alison Haislip via the G4 Network on Nov. 2, 2010 and received my two photos back signed today, Nov. 18, 2010. She did just her autograph on one and on the other one she wrote "Cory - Where are my pants?" and autographed it. Pretty funny stuff.

Boyz II Men - R&B music group

When I was in high school, Boyz II Men was one of the hottest musical acts going. Like most people, the music that was popular during my high school years has meaning to me. I can equate it to certain times or events. So, when I saw Boyz II Men were touring, I figured what the heck, I'll send a couple of photos and see if they'll sign for me. So, on Nov. 7, 2010 I sent a letter, a return envelope, an 8x10 and a 4x6 to see if they'd respond. Today, Nov. 17, 2010, I received both photos signed by all three members of the group (there were four when I was in high school, but one dude left several years ago). This is the 20th anniversary of Boyz II Men. I liked these two photos too.

Emma Stone - Zombieland, The House Bunny, Superbad, etc.

I love Emma Stone. I think she's hot (I've got a thing for red heads) and I think she's a talented actress. Zombieland is one of my favorite recent movies and she was great in it. I purchased this through an auction and am thrilled I got it for a great price. She isn't known for signing through the mail, so my best chance at her autograph was to purchase it.

Amy Adams - Talladega Nights, Enchanted, Doubt, etc.

Amy Adams is one of my celebrity crushes, so when I had the opportunity to purchase a nice autographed photo of her at a decent price, I did it. I love this picture. Almost all of the autographed photos of her I was finding were from Enchanted and looked weird, since she was dressed as a princess in them.

Patton Oswalt - King of Queens, comedy specials, etc.

I sent Patton Oswalt a letter, a return envelope and a 4x6 photo on Nov. 2, 2010. I received the photo back signed and personalized today, Nov. 16, 2010. Another nice, quick return. I love him in the King of Queens.

Blake Clark - Boy Meets World, Grown Ups, The Waterboy, etc.

Blake Clark is a character actor you know when you see him, even if you don't know his name necessarily. I really liked him in Boy Meets World way back when and he's in lots of Adam Sandler movies, most recently, Grown Ups. I sent him a letter, a self address stamped envelope and a 4x6 photo on Nov. 5, 2010. I received the photo back personalized and signed with a nice inscription of "God bless the USA" today, Nov. 16, 2010. Very quick turnaround!

Jeff Daniels - Speed, Dumb and Dumber, etc.

Very thrilled with this through the mail success. I saw that Jeff Daniels was doing a concert tour, so I mailed an 8x10, a letter and a return envelope to the Fargo Theatre in Fargo, ND on Nov. 3, 2010. Much to my surprise (because you never know if the artist will even get what you send via a venue), today, Nov. 15, 2010, I received my 8x10 back signed and personalized by Mr. Daniels. He is awesome, so I'm happy to add this to my collection!

Josh Saviano - The Wonder Years

Nice start to a new week today. I got an autograph from Josh Saviano in the mail today. I sent him a letter, a return envelope and a 4x6 photo on Nov. 2, 2010 and received my photo back signed and personalized with a nice inscription today, Nov. 15, 2010. Josh is now an attorney in NY and no longer acting, but I'll always remember him as Paul from the Wonder Years. He was also nice enough to write "photo, do not bend" on my return envelope.

Kate Flannery - The Office

I sent a fan letter, a self addressed stamped envelope and one 8x10 to Kate Flannery on Sept. 18, 2010 and got a response today, Nov. 13, 2010. She sent my photo back personalized, signed and inscribed. She also sent her own photo as Meredith on The Office with a funny inscription. In addition to the two signed photos, she sent me an 8x10 cast photo with pre-printed signatures. Very nice!

Ty Pennington - Extreme Home Makeover

I sent a letter, a self addressed stamped envelope and a 4x6 photo to Ty Pennington on November 2, 2010 and received my photo back signed today, November 13, 2010. Very happy with the quick turnaround. I hadn't seen where there were too many successes with him, so I'm pleased to get this one back at all.

OneRepublic!!

I emailed the management team for the band OneRepublic on Oct. 8, 2010 and asked if there was any way to receive an autographed photo from the band. They responded and said they would get one to me. Today, Nov. 12, 2010, I received the 8x10. Very cool - I love band signed photos! I really do enjoy OneRepublic's music too.

Fred Thompson - U.S. Senator, Die Hard 2, Law and Order

I sent a letter of request, a 4x6 photo and a self addressed stamped envelope to Mr. Fred Thompson on Nov. 2, 2010 and received the photo back signed and personalized today, Nov. 12, 2010. Great success from a great actor!

Conrad Bain - Diff'rent Strokes

Well, this one is a head-scratcher. I sent Mr. Conrad Bain (he played Phillip Drummond on Diff'rent Strokes) a 4x6 photo, a letter of request and a self addressed stamped envelope. He sent the photo back, but he signed it on the back. Kind of weird, but the dude is really old. I would send off for other members of the cast, but most of them are dead. I didn't bother scanning this one because it is just a name written on the back of a picture.

Mark Harmon - NCIS

A great start to a new mail delivery week today. I sent Mr. Mark Harmon a letter of request, a self addressed stamped envelope, and 8x10 and a 5x7 on Oct. 1, 2010 and received my two photos back autographed and personalized today, Nov. 8, 2010. I think he is a really good actor and I love how he used a white paint pen to sign in the dark area of the larger photo.

Seinfeld - Seinfeld, Dreyfuss, Alexander, Richards, Knight

This is another collection I'm pleased with. All of these were purchased in the early 2000s. Again, I've got what I feel is the main cast (although if you wanted to go deeper - you could go on forever!).

Billy Crystal - City Slickers, Analyze This

I received this one by writing to Billy Crystal many, many years ago. There is some thought that his through the mail autographs are now done by autopen (a machine that signs autographs), but I'm not sure about this one because it was so long ago.

Elaine Stritch - 30 Rock, Broadway actress (100th post - who hoo!!)

I received this autographed, personalized photo from Elaine Stritch today. I know her as Jack's mother on 30 Rock, but she is a Broadway and theatre legend. I sent the 8x10, a letter of request and a self addressed stamped envelope to her on Oct. 22, 2010 and received it back on Nov. 3, 2010. Glad to get this one back. Very nice of her to sign for me!
